Abraham Biggs suicide video

November 23, 2008

Okay, folks, I just gotta say I think y’all are pretty sick to be making the search term in the title of this post show up at #24 in Google’s hot trends for today. Let’s take just one example out of the sickness hat and take a looksee, huh? The copycat phenomenon. So, this video becomes popular enough and someone else may try it. If they can’t get their fifteen minutes while they are alive, they figure their death might give it to them. And you’ll watch it on justin.tv, and won’t call the cops until after they’re dead, will you? You’ll watch anything to distract you from feeling just how painful it is to be you, perhaps? Try feeling your pain for just this once. Maybe you’ll learn something from the experience. Sick, just sick.

Ashley dishes, Cheney indicted

November 19, 2008

In among the hot trends for today

12. cheney indicted
13. ashley dupre
The Cheney indictment is highly unlikely to do anything, and you can’t see Ashley Alexandra Dupre dishing her story to Diane Sawyer until Friday night. Sorry to get your hopes up over nothing much…

Nearing 100,000 blog views

October 26, 2008

Based on view count averages over the last month or so, I should pass the 100,000 views mark for this blog sometime in the next 24 hours. Around a month ago, I was thinking that would probably happen sometime slightly before the end of the year, but the release of the sequel to Zeitgeist has brought a significant upsurge in viewers here, so things are well ahead of that schedule. Anyway, while I’m looking at the most popular posts here and stats and so forth, I thought I’d take this opportunity to link some of them here and also link some (IMO) deserving but less well read posts- an update on anything which is more current than 05/05/2008; the last time I wrote here about some of my less read (but IMO deserving) posts So, here goes…

Top 10 all time viewed blog posts (and date written)
1. Peter Joseph’s movie Zeitgeist 15,645 01/14/2008
2. A “debunking” of the movie Zeitgeist 5,276 05/06/2008
3. Reviews of the movie Zeitgeist by Peter Joseph 3,651 01/17/2008
4. Alleged Spitzer call girl bikini picture (and probable debunk of “Kristen” profile pic) 2,125 03/13/2008
5. WTC 7 survivor Barry Jennings dead? 1,890 09/17/2008
6. Kill The Messenger- the Sibel Edmonds documentary – watch it here, since you can’t get it from Netflix 1,482 11/25/2007
7. Fortune 500 companies board of directors overlap project 1,414 02/12/2008
8. update on my big muckety social mapping project 1,395 02/02/2008
9. What this blog is not about- “naked YouTube where I can her boobs” 1,378 01/13/2008
10. Ashley Alexandra Dupre- a volcanically hot trend 994 03/13/2008

As far as less viewed but deserving posts go, not too much to add to the old list; the blog has been on the back shelf a bit lately due to other projects/interests. Some worthwhile new additions to the mapping Fortune 500 companies and their interlocking directorships can be found within the Fortune 500 category.

Most of the rest seems to be along the lines of topical news commentary as I see new stories come along. And, if you haven’t already started learning how to read between the MSM li(n)es yourself, shame on you and get to work on that!

Financial issues, Palin emails, precious metals and other hot trends

September 18, 2008

Well, here’s another update on the recent hot search trends which I think are relevant to readers of this blog…

Wikileaks, a site which I’ve mentioned quite a few times in the past, is down for the count after posting some Anonymous hacker(s) (4channer(s), I believe, from what I’ve read so far) info from VP candidate (and Alaska governor) Sarah Palin’s “personal” email account. Several hits to this blog looking for wikileaks cover names, a fairly usual occurance here when wikileaks goes down. Unfortunately, I’ve just tried a sampling of the cover names and none of them have borne fruit for me… fortunately for y’all (voyeurs), Dandelion Salad has posted some links to screenshots one two
Several items on the hot trends list related to this story today including:
2. wikileaks palin
3. palin email
12. wikileaks website
15. wiki leaks
17. sarah palin e mail
29. palin yahoo
37. palin hacked
41. wikileaks mirror
(probably) 49. gawker palin
74. wikileaks down

so that’s a quick look at the circus news… moving on to the (mostly bad, unless you can afford to eat cake) bread news- gold and silver both had major upswings, worries about the financial health of Washington Mutual continue, mergers and bailouts, etc.

21. forbes 400
38. morgan stanley wachovia
43. gold price today
52. price of gold per ounce
56. wachovia merger
57. washington mutual bankruptcy
78. wamu for sale
91. wamu news
100. wamu stock

Still around

August 13, 2008

Despite appearances to the contrary, I haven’t forgotten this blog, I’ve just been busy with a different project. It’ll probably be taking most of my spare time for the next few months, so don’t expect too many new posts here for awhile. As a 13th day of the month posting, though, here are a few search terms which I found interesting to see among the top hot trends searches for today:

In Quincy, MA, they are apparently searching for the following phrases:

satyagraha movement launched by gandhiji in south africa
at which place was gandhiji born
In New York City (and elsewhere), they are searching for solipsistic and also among the hot trends is free will astrology. That’s it for now; have a happy Wednesday the 13th.
