The Fortune 500 world gets a bit smaller- Hewlett Packard to pay $12.6 billion to buy Electronic Data Systems

#14 Hewlett Packard plans to buy up #115 Electronic Data Systems. As the article says, perhaps to challenge #15 IBM. Isn’t THAT nice?

In related news, I’m now working on connecting up lots and lots of Fortune 1000 companies using muckety maps through a relatively few people. I’ve been working my way through #s 501-1000 in alphabetical order (at least the ones which are muckety mapped, that is) and am finished with the letter D now. A whole bunch of new names for my project have emerged. I’ll share them when I have a bit more time. Maybe I can connect up 500 of the top 1000 with a reasonable number of names (say 150 or so) What do you think? Here’s what I’ve put together so far- minus the new names…
