As I mentioned (without having a chance to dig up the documentation at that time) in a post called AP- US to seek death penalty in 9/11 case, confessions obtained via torture aren’t the most reliable. Do I think KSM is as pure as driven snow, completely innocent? NO. Nonetheless, confessing to having plotted attacks against a bank which wasn’t founded until 3 years after his detainment doesn’t seem too likely. Okay, confessing seems likely. The plotting seems unlikely in that particular case. One of the things that worries me here is that threemonths after Timothy McVeigh was executed was when we had 9/11. Will we see another similar scenario play out again, with another terrorist attack following on the heels of the “successful prosecution” of those responsible, according to the government, anyway?
